I am using this motor on the bow of a 15 foot aluminum boat in Lake Erie. It works perfectly. The foot pedal is easy to operate...although the steering is pretty sensitive and you can easily over control it. The foot controlled speed is very easy to use and set. Having a battery charge level tester on the unit is also handy. This motor has plenty of power for my boat, even in windy conditions. I also really like how the motor locks in place when retracted thus being very secure when in transit through rough water.
